Hydra Studio

Hydra Studio is actively looking to add a new member to our development team. We will consider this position for part-time or full-time, depending on experience and availability.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, a team player, organized and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate should be self-motivated and will be required to work both individually and with other team members. Qualified candidates will also work directly with clients in discussing, planning, and communicating the direction of projects. Therefore, candidates with strong communication skills and an outgoing personality will be highly preferred. Having a portfolio website and demo reel is the best way to be considered for this position.

Requirements:

• 3 + years of PHP (4/5) and MySQL development
• Strong relational database design
• Ability to write clean, reusable, and well-documented code
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Familiarity with rapid development frameworks (Rails, CakePHP, Symfony, etc)
• Experience administering LAMP environments
• Strong knowledge of XHTML / Web standards
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work both individually and with a team
• Ability to work within tight deadlines
• Must be able to adhere to strict coding standards similar to Zend, based on PEAR
• Ability to work with a team at a project planning level

Bonus Points for the following:

• Experience with eCommerce platform integration
• Experience with programming design patterns and best practices
• Experience with Zend Framework v1.5
• Experience with OOP and Unit Testing in PHP5
• Ability to re-factor open source code
• Working knowledge of PHP libraries and extensions
• Working knowledge of UNIX / Linux
• Experience with version control systems (SVN)
• Ability to integrate with web service APIs (ReST, SOAP, XML-RPC, RSS, etc)
